I know. It’s been a while. I must apologize for my silence and absence this year. Here I was hoping 2020 was going to rock, and then life...and Covid...had other things in mind. I still have all the smell good things, just haven’t been able to do any shows or had the time to really make promoting a priority. This is usually my busy season and I miss seeing everyone’s smiling faces!
With the holidays coming up, I thought it was time to do....something. The inventory on my website has been updated. If I’m missing something you’d like, email me and I’ll make it. I’ll be adding some more holiday candles in the next couple of weeks. I’ll also soon be announcing an open house at the beginning of December. It will be hosted in Lincoln and I’ll plan to do a Facebook live feed for those out of town or unable to come out. Stay posted!!!!!

I am now pretty much settled back in to my hometown. I was a little worried about how I'd feel being back in the town I was so eager to get out of 20 years ago. To be honest, I am very happy to be back. Being close to family definitely makes up for the move. The cons have been pretty limited. Like, I'm constantly craving Thai takeout. And, more relevantly, finding my place as a candle maker in Central Illinois. Hoping to find more opportunities for you all to find my candles. For those in or close to Lincoln, you can make your purchase online and select local pickup to save on shipping. I'll reach out to you to schedule the pickup!
I have a couple upcoming shows: - Witches Night Out October 19th 5-10 pm in Lincoln, IL at the Logan County Fairgrounds: a fundraiser to benefit the local YMCA, Humane Society and VFW. - Christmas on Vinegar Hill at the Mt. Pulaski High School November 23rd from 8-4. More to come as the holiday season approaches. November 1st, I will release a couple new winter fragrances. Available now are the fall scents Spiced Cider, Toasted Pumpkin and Fall Harvest. Nothing like the warm fragrance of spice on these cooling, autumn days. Much love to you all!!! Jen As you might know, I started this little venture a year and a half ago here in Evansville. I have loved being able to grow in this town. I am forever grateful for my customers here at the festivals and Newburgh Farmer’s Market. I’m sad to have to tell you that I will be moving at the end of July back to my hometown, Lincoln Illinois, in order to be closer to family. I will continue to have my website up for all your smell good needs. Online ordering will be suspended between July 20th and August 7th as I get everything back in order from the move. During that time, feel free to reach out to me at thebusybench@gmail.com. And, I promise to get that newsletter finally started!
In the meantime, you can find me at the Newburgh farmers market through the end of July. I will be back down here every couple of months and will let you all know ahead of time. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Evansville will forever be where the roots of The Busy Bench grew. With much love, Jen The Busy Bench I'm sure if your holidays are going like mine, Halloween was just yesterday and you have no idea where the time has gone. It happens every year, yet it still takes me by surprise. But, no matter what, I love it. I cannot wait to spend time with my family and having a moment to breathe.
If you are still looking for some last minute gifts or stocking stuffers, from now until December 22nd, you can get 10% off any orders of $25 or over. I also have all the holidays scents on sale for 20% off. This includes Wassail, Toasted Pumpkin, Cranberry Garland, Pine Needle and Spice Cookie. I want to thank you so much for your support this year. I hope for everyone to have a wonderful holiday season and a safe and happy new year! Warm wishes, Jen Between the cloudy, rainy days of autumn, we get a beautiful, sunny day like today. Leaves are falling. Magnolia pods are pelting my roof. I'm sitting here trying not to think of the lawn work awaiting me in the next couple of weeks. To keep my mind off of that, I'm working on adding to my inventory of holiday fragrances for the upcoming craft shows. If you haven't tried the Wassail, Toasted Pumpkin, Pine Needle, Cranberry Garland and Spice Cookie, you should stop by the Old Courthouse Craft Show this weekend in Evansville and give them a sniff.
Oh, did I mention? I've released a new fragrance in my fancy candles! Antique Sandalwood. It is a warm blend of sandalwood, cedar wood and amber. I don't know whether to call it romantic or soothing, but it is a beautiful addition to my fragrance line. You can also purchase it in the 4 oz tin and wax melt. Stay tuned for a couple more announcements in the next couple of weeks. A collaboration with a local online boutique and a place to buy my candles in Lincoln Illinois. So much excitement!!! The Historic Newburgh Farmers Market ended on Saturday, September 15th. So, what's a candle maker going to do to get her human interaction on??? Well, lucky for you (and me really), the holidays are creeping up on us and there are some great festivals and craft fairs coming up. Below you will find the list of the ones The Busy Bench will be at in the tri-state area. I will have some fun festival themed candles specifically for these events. Please stop by and say hi if you attend.
